Ripping your Audio-CD into Mp3, Ogg or Wma is a part of Audio Conversion process. Record your Audio Cassette into digital format is another one but on most software used to perform Ripping and Recording are mostly have limitation on the target file format.

CD Ripper softwares are not capable of converting file other than an Audio-CD WAV file. Audacity can convert a single WAV file to other formats but limited only to Ogg and Mp3. Don’t blame them, because they have their own general purpose and they are very good at it.

This is a matter of simplicity based on your requirement. If you only need to convert WAV file into Mp3 or Ogg, Audacity can do that for you, but what if you want more format capabilities? not just Wav to Mp3 or Wav to Ogg?

Well, you can choose to use more than one software to fulfill your requirement but is there any software with a complete functionality to perform file-to-file audio conversion? Yep, there is! It’s called SUPER (Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer) and it’s purely FREE!

SUPER © “The Encoder” is the fastest and simplest tool to encode full length movies to any other format without any time or function limitation. It’s not only a Multimedia Encoder which gives you more than what you need but it’s also a Multimedia Player, easy-to-use.

SUPER © supports the conversion - encoding both ways, to and from many-many formats. You can check its huge list of the supported formats yourself, give it a try - I am sure you won’t regret it, it’s a powerful one and following are two processes I mostly perform them with SUPER:

  1. Convert Wav Audio file to Mp3
  2. Convert various Video file to Mp4 for my cellphone

Please download and have it installed on your machine if you want to follow the guide on this blog. Most of the actions here use SUPER as the converter software. Right now, I will give you an example on how to convert a WAV file into several audio formats using SUPER.

First, you will need a WAV file as the source. If you don’t have it, you can download 30 seconds WAV file track of Phil Collins’ Another Day In Paradise here.

Open SUPER then drag and drop the WAV source file into the SUPER window. Set the settings as shown on the picture then hit the [Encode (Active Files)] button. When it’s done, the resulting MP3 will be stored in “C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER\OutPut” folder or in the similar path where you install SUPER, located then play it.

If you want, you can try different output format by selecting any format from [Select the Output Container] dropbox.
