Personal Digital Audio & Video Converting Guide
If you need a portion of a video to be included in your multimedia presentation, this guide will show you how to do cut a portion of a video into a separate file.
So far, I have not been able to find a better VCD cutter or VCD extractor other than Free Video Dub from DVDVideoSoft, it’s a good one! So we’re going t use it for this video cutting process. Download it then install it if you don’t have it installed on your machine.
Okay, Let’s start by running Free Video Dub. I will assume you already have the source video you want to cut, click the [Open File] button then open that video. Free Video Dub will generate an output file name right on the next box. You can then use the resulting video for editing with other software later.
Free Video Dub is a video cutter so what you need to do is to mark the unwanted area of the video then delete them leaving only the desired area. You can do the marking by using the [Trim Left] and [Trim Right] buttons (with scissor picture on it). After you set the marking area click the [Delete] button to remove the area. Once you have the desired area click the [Save Video] button to save it.
Try to play the resulting video with your media player. The resulting video location will be likely the same as the source video location with “_CUT” postfix on the filename. Go ahead and do whatever you want with the resulting video, and if you curious to see the result without trying it yourself you can download the 51 seconds of Happy Feet video portion here - but please use it only for personal use!!
I am amazed by the result of this software. It’s purely cut the video without any altering to the quality - very good result IMHO. A little tip when you install it: Uncheck all of the offerring checkboxes presented during the install process If you only want to install this software without including the offering such as the Ask toolbar.
